Jose Bautista was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left hip bone bruise. It appears that Bautista suffered the injury earlier this month during the Blue Jays last home stand according to Blue Jays manager John Gibbons. It’s unclear which exact game the injury occurred in, but Bautista has on hit only .125 with one home run over his last nine games before be placed on the disabled list. The Blue Jays plan is to rest him for the next two weeks and provide treatment before he will get re-evaluated. Bautista seems optimistic that he’ll return in September and quickly shot down the idea that the Blue Jays might consider shutting him down for the season.
