Alex Wood Continues to Carve Niche in Braves Rotation

Alex Wood was pitching at the University of Georgia just one year ago. Now, he finds himself in the Atlanta Braves rotation and having alot of success. On Tuesday night, he continued this incredible string of starts as he held the Indians scoreless over 5 2/3 innings as the Braves beat the Indians 2-0. This was Wood's fifth straight start of allowing one run or less. He worked around five hits and four walks, striking out five in the outing. This clearly was not one of his best outings, but what was impressive is how this young left consistently worked out of trouble and kept his composure. Wood moved to 3-2 with a 2.27 ERA in 63 1/3 innings this season. He will face off with the Marlins on Sunday and is certainly worth adding in NL-Only leagues down the stretch.
