Miguel Cabrera Says He "Will Play" Friday

Miguel Cabrera wasn't around to see Torii Hunter hit the 3-run game winning home run in the Tigers 7-6, walk-off victory after he left the game in the fifth inning due to abdominal discomfort. Cabrera was trying to stretch a single into a double and when he slid into second base he tweaked the muscle. Cabrera took some time getting up and walked off the field slowly, which left some to wonder about the severity of the injury. Cabrera, who leads the majors in batting average and RBIs, vows that he will play today, but the Tigers don't seem as confident. The team has him listed as day-to-day. Cabrera has been bothered this month with a strain in his groin, abdominal and hip area. He previously was playing with a banged-up left leg. For those fantasy owners that participate in daily leagues, its best that you check Cabrera's status later today before keeping him in your starting lineup.
