MLB In Full Bloom - Arenado Hit Streak At 27 - 5/8/2014

With one swing in the first inning, Nolan Arenado took all the drama out of whether he would match Colorado's record hitting streak and help the Rockies to another lopsided victory over the Rangers in as many nights, 9-2 on Wednesday. Arenado's two-run double in the first extended his hitting streak to 27 games, matching teammate Michael Cuddyer's record streak from last year. Arenado is hitting .364 (39 of 107) in the streak that started just about a month ago. His streak is the longest for anyone 23 years or younger since Albert Pujols had a 30-game hitting streak when he was 23-years old. He'll look to surpass that mark Thursday against Matt Harrison and the Rangers.
