Billy Hamilton Steals 4 Bases in Reds Victory

Share

We have all been waiting for the arrival of Billy Hamilton and with his performance on Wednesday night in Houston, its safe to say Hamilton has landed safely. Last night, Hamilton showed what he could do with the opportunity to play in a full game. Hamilton responded to his first major league start by going 3-for-4 and reaching base five times and he had four stolen bases in the 13-inning game, and eventually scored the game-winning run after drawing a walk, stealing second -- on a pitch out-- and scoring on Jay Bruce's third double of the game. Hamilton now has nine stolen bases in nine attempts since being recalled from Triple-A. If your a fantasy owner that stashed this speedster, you can sit back and enjoy the ride. If your in a keeper league, Hamilton must be kept for as long as your league rules allow you to keep him because he may just win you the stolen base category all by himself.

No Surgery for Matt Harvey - For Now.....

Matt Harvey and the New York Mets announced on Tuesday that the right-hander has decided that he won’t have surgery yet to repair a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament in his pitching elbow, but Harvey still has a long way to go before the Mets or fantasy owners can feel confident that he will be around in 2014. Harvey will begin a throwing program soon that’s scheduled to last 6-8 weeks, but if he has a “red flag” at any point during the program, he’ll shut things down and go under the knife. The timing of this plan works out so that Harvey really doesn’t have anything to lose by attempting to rehab the injury. If it works for him than that is great news. If he injures the elbow during this rehab, he was still going to miss all of the 2014 season whether he had surgery now or in two months, and he should be ready for the start of 2015.
