Hanley Ramirez has been one of the most productive offensive players this season when he has been healthy. The problem for Ramirez is staying healthy and on Sunday afternoon at Wrigley Field, he went crashing into the brick wall and fell into the stands while making a catch and he was diagnosed with a jammed his right shoulder. An MRI is scheduled for today in St. Louis. The timing of this injury could not be worse for the Dodgers, who start a big four-game series at Busch Stadium in St. Louis on Monday night and don’t have a good fill-in at shortstop. Ramirez is irreplaceable in fantasy leagues and to the Dodgers.
On Thursday night in Arlington, Yu Darvish wouldn't stop striking out the Diamondbacks. In his 21st start of the season, Darvish matched a career high with 14 strikeouts in a 7-1 Rangers victory. It's the fourth time this season that he has had a 14-strikeout game. He allowed five hits and walked nobody while throwing 111 pitches. Darvish struck out every hitter in the Arizona lineup except Cody Ross, who went 1-for-3. He struck out 10 of his first 13 batters and recorded his first six outs on strikeouts in the first two innings while allowing two hits. Darvish failed to record a strikeout only in the seventh, which was his final inning.
