Pagan Out For 12 Weeks

The San Francisco Giants and Angel Pagan received the worst news possible regarding his hamstring injury. Pagan is expected to miss up to 12 weeks after learning that his hamstring tendon behind his left knee will require surgery. That means Pagan will miss almost the entire remainder of the regular season and could be lost for the year if any complications pop up. Twelve weeks from Tuesday is Sept. 17, when the Giants have 12 games remaining. There seems to be some optimism by the Giants that Pagan could be back sooner than the reported 12 weeks, but the bottom line is that the Giants will be without Pagan for a long time. Fantasy owners that have Pagan on their bench know what to do.

Michael Cuddyer's Hitting Streak At 21

Michael Cuddyer homered in his first at-bat to extend the major league's longest hitting streak this season to 21 games -- and the Rockies held on to defeat the Washington Nationals 7-6 on Sunday afternoon. Cuddyer went 3 for 4 with four RBIs to break a tie with David Freese for the year's top streak, and Cuddyer is now just two games shy of matching the franchise's best run. Cuddyer has also reached base in a club-record 40 straight games. With Troy Tulowitzki currently on the disabled list, Cuddyer and Carlos Gonzalez are the two that need to carry the Rockies. As long as Cuddyer stays healthy, he will provide fantasy owners with above average offensive production all season.
