Roy Oswalt Signs with Rockies

Its been reported that Roy Oswalt was waiting for the right offer from a contender to come along and apparently he feels that the Colorado Rockies are that team because he signed a minor league deal with them on Thursday. Given the fact that four of the five Rockies starters have an ERA of 4.00 or higher, it should not take Oswalt long to get back in the majors. This is certainly a low risk, high reward situation for both sides, but of all the teams that Oswalt could have signed with to contend this year, I'm just as surprised as many are that he picked the Rockies and Coors Field to call his home in 2013. However, he's 4-0 with a 2.25 ERA at Coors Field during his career. Its anyone's guess what he will do once he joins the Rockies, but after posting a 5.80 ERA with the Rangers last year, fantasy owners need to proceed with caution. He is worth adding in deep NL-Only leagues and mixed leagues.

In his last 17 innings pitched, Zimmerman has allowed three hits, walked one, and has struck out 12. There might not be a hotter pitcher in all of baseball. Zimmerman will face a tough Detroit Tigers lineup in his next start next Tuesday.
